The purpose of this site is to present photos of Oklahoma and Oklahoma City (OKC) to those of you who are not really familiar with this part of the country.  Based on personal experience, I know that a person can have a mental image of a place and be totally wrong.   Please take a few minutes to look at these photos (select from menu above).  If you zoom through Oklahoma by automobile at 70-75 mph on the Interstates, or fly over, or just stay home, you will not see most of these things.   As in most other places, you have to get off of the Interstates.  If you live in one of the 48 contiguous states, I have been in your state and have seen some of your best and some of your worst.  Have you been in mine and, if so, did you see anything other than the Interstates?  As some wise person said: "Life begins at the offramp".

Presented by a retired native Oklahoman who chooses to continue to live here.   This unofficial presentation is not intended to be a comparison (for good or bad) with other states.  Its only purpose is to show a random sampling of Oklahoma.  Most of the photos came from many different places (public display) on the Internet.  There are, of course, no oceans or snow-capped mountains.  Instead, there are some large lakes and forested smaller mountains.
